First there's Bert, who's recently divorced.
Actually, it's been a few years, but, of course,
it doesn't seem that way to him, and he can't seem to get back on that horse.
And as for why, well, he's still stuck on his ex.
They get along swell for the kids, so what the hex?
She'll never put out again though; she just likes to text.
Here comes February and yet another year without a valentine.
Second, there's Heather who's an early widow.
And ever since he died, life doesn't seem to have the same glow.
Her friends tell her she has to move on; tell her something she doesn't already know.
And she's just tried the latest dating app,
but she's decided she'd much rather be taking a nap.
She wonders if anything could ever fill this gap.
And the only flowers she'll see are the ones in stores.
And he's got no one to buy candy for.
And her mother is the only one to send a card.
And he thinks that love really shouldn't be this hard.
Third, there's Jamie, who's feeling fine.
Doesn't need anyone to ask, "Will you be mine?"
Isn't waiting on anyone's invitation to dine.
Couldn't imagine putting up with someone else's bullshit.
Is not hoping to find the one and say this is it.
Been single so long, doesn't want to quit.
